Denver comes into this big showdown with a limp as star players Chauncey Billups and Carmelo Anthony have combined to 
miss eight of the last nine games. The Nuggets have gone just 3-6 in that stretch and their lead over the Portland Trailblazers in the Northwest Divsion has dwindled to one game as a result. Both players missed the team's last outing, a 123-122 shootout win at the Pepsi Center against Golden State on Tuesday night; however, they did practice yesterday and Billups, for one, has indicated he will be ready to roll this evening.
The Nuggets, which are 22-13 overall, are 14-3 at home this season where they are averaging 114 points per game (second best in the league). Denver's last home loss came on Sunday, January 3rd when the team fell 105-108 to Philadelphia.
Cleveland enters tonight's contest having won eight of its last 10 games. The Cavaliers improved to 28-9 and extended their Central Division lead over Milwaukee to 11.5 games by pounding the embattled Washington Wizards 121-98 last night. Cleveland hit 57.3 percent from the field against the Wizards and dropped 50 percent (11-of-22) from beyond the arc. The Cavs also had six players score in double figures, led by Lebron James' 23. James neared his third triple-double of the season as he grabbed seven boards and dished out eight assists in the decisive victory.
Cleveland, which has the third best points per game allowed average in the league at 93.6, is a stellar 14-6 away from the Quicken Loans Arena. The Cavaliers have won five in a row on the road, their last away loss coming December 20th at Dallas.
