Despite winning just six of their last 10 games (their worst stretch of the season), the Lakers are still 29-8 overall and they have a five game lead over the Phoenix Suns in the Pacific Division. Los Angeles has struggled on the road of late too, losing its last three away games by an average of 11.7 points per game. The Lakers are 4-6 straight up in their last 10 games at San Antonio, but a stellar 7-3 against the spread.
San Antonio won for the seventh time in its last 10 games on Sunday, and rebounded from a home loss to the Mavericks, by beating the hapless New Jersey Nets 97-85 at the AT&T Center. Tim Duncan had 14 points and 17 rebounds for the Spurs, but the bench did most of the work in the win, totaling 58 points, including 21 from super-sub Manu Ginobili. The double digit victory improved San Antonio to 22-13 overall and 16-6 at home.
The Spurs now trail Dallas by two games in the Southwest Division; the two clubs will not meet again until the season finale on April 14th.
