Houston, which is 24-20 overall and in fourth place in the Southwest Divison, lost for the third time in its last five games on Monday evening, falling at home to the Hawks 95-102. The setback was also the second in a row for the Rockets at home where they now stand at 13-7 on the season. Houston's recent woes have them sitting 5.5 games back of the first place Mavericks in the tightly contested division.
These two teams hooked up on December 16th at the Pepsi Center, and, not surprisingly, the Nuggets prevailed by a score of 111-101 on the strength of a 38 point outburst from Carmelo Anthony. However, Denver has had difficulty at the Toyota Center, losing four of its last five visits to the arena.
