Heat at Thunder 2011 NBA Spreads, Odds & Predictions

by Reno Gold on Sunday, January 30th, 2011

Yes it's true – there are no odds, spreads or totals posted for Sunday's (1 PM ET) Miami Heat versus Oklahoma City Thunder NBA game and tip-off at the OKC Ford Center is only four hours away (1 PM ET, ABC). The reason for this calamity is there are questions if Chris Bosh or Dwayne Wade will dress out and play. With the duo, Miami could be a slight favorite – without Bosh and Wade, the Heat will be a decided underdog. Regardless if they play or not, odds makers will line the game – It's a matter of when. Odds makers at most offshore sports shops will post lines for this game shortly. Check this link – NBA Spreads – for any NBA spreads updates.

Heat at Thunder 2011 NBA Spreads, Odds & PredictionsIt's become obvious, the Heat with only a healthy LeBron James in the lineup isn't good enough to win consistently. Miami is ailing and their recent record shows it. Their slump started when they lost in Los Angeles to the Clippers Jan. 12, then proceeded to lose three more, Denver and Chicago on the road, then to Atlanta at home. The Heat have now picked up wins in two of their last three games, only losing to the Knicks at Madison Square Garden in New York on Thursday. Sunday's game at Oklahoma City will be the Heat's third in four days. This is a team that need a break, but that's not in the cards as the Heat must travel home to play Cleveland on Monday.

Oklahoma City has had its issues too. Over a six game span, the Thunder have split six games with three SU wins. On Friday, the Thunder tripped the Wizards at home by seven points, but failing to cover the 10 1/2 point chalk.

Reports indicate that Bosh and Wade were both on the team plane as it took off for Oklahoma City on Saturday. Of course that doesn't mean they will play. For the year Miami is 15-9 SU in road games and 13-11 winning against the point spread. Overall, the Heat look to be a little overlined with a 20-25 ATS record. In their last 10 games, we get a different picture, with Miami going 1-5 ATS and 5-5 SU.

The Thunder is good at home going 4-1 SU and ATS in their last five home games. The OVER has been a good bet in that span cashing on the posted total in three of their last five games. In totals wagering, OVER has cashed in nine of 13 OKC home games while Miami is 9-9 in covering the OVER/UNDER total on the road.

Keep your eye out for odds to post. You will be able to get them here. We suspect, the Thunder will be slight favorites by a point or two. So in that regard – BEST BET- Thunder SU.
