The Phoenix Suns and the Golden State Warriors will take the court against each for the second straight game when they hook up this evening at the US Airways Center in Phoenix, AZ. The rematch of Wednesday night's game in Oakland tips off at 10:30pm ET and will be broadcast live on ESPN. NBA Picks: Golden State Warriors vs Phoenix Suns at online bookmaker SBGglobal.com are favoring the Suns -10 against the spread and -650 on the moneyline.
Phoenix went into the ORACLE Arena Wednesday night as a four point against the spread favorite, but they were upset by the high scoring Warriors 124-112. The Suns, who lead the league in field goal percentage at 49.6 percent, connected on just 41-of-90 shots from two point range and 7-of-24 from beyond the arc.
The poor effort was indicative of the Suns play of late as they have dropped six of their last 10 games. Despite their latest troubles, Phoenix remains in second place in the Pacific division at 26-21. While they trail the Lakers by 13 games, they are still 11.5 games ahead of the third place Warriors (16-34).
The Suns are 13-10 at home this year where they average 106.1 points per game and shoot 50.3 percent from the field on an average of 78.5 shots per game. However, they are not defensive juggernauts, allowing an average of 103.3 points per game, a mark that ranks fifth worst in the league.
Golden State pulled off the victory on Wednesday night thanks largely to Stephen Jackson's first career triple double. The talented forward scored 30 points, grabbed 11 boards, and dished out 10 assists in leading his team past the Suns. As a team the Warriors shot an impressive, though uncharacteristic, 52 percent from the field in the double digit victory.
Don Nelson's team has been abysmal on the road this year, going just 5-22 away from ORACLE Arena, despite averaging 101.9 points per game (fourth best in the league) in opposing venues. Golden State, like Phoenix, is often done in by their subpar defense; they allow a league worst 111.2 points per game.
The Warriors are 3-4 in division play this season after their win two nights ago and they are 5-5 in their last 10 games.
