Mike Bibby scored five points in 16-plus minutes in his debut, a loss to the Lakers, and followed that up with 17 points the next night in a loss to Sacramento, the team that had just traded him away. They're also in the midst of a six-game road trip, which doesn't bode well considering their 6-19 record away from home.
Utah is trying to stay head of the Denver Nuggets, who were only 1.5 games back of the division lead as of Thursday. The Jazz have been nearly unbeatable in the New Year, going 18-3, and they've won their past three games. Carlos Boozer has been fantastic lately, leading the team in points and rebounds in three of the past four games. He also notched a triple-double last week in Seattle.
