The Orlando Magic hope to continue the NBA Picks home winning streak tonight when they play host to the Sacramento Kings. After getting called out by his head coach, Dwight Howard has been red hot scoring 24 points and grabbing 18 rebounds in their 115-99 win over Philadelphia on Friday. It was Orlando’s highest-scoring output since a 119-point effort in a loss to Memphis on December 15. After averaging 104 points per game overall on the season the Magic has boosted that total to 109.3 per game over their last five. The winning streak looks to continue, at least as far as the odds makers are concerned, as Orlando is listed as a -7 point home favorite at BetUs.com
The Sacramento Kings come into this NBA picks contest on a winning streak of their own. Oddly enough the Kings have won three in a row and have not lost since trading point guard Mike Bibby to Atlanta. In their most recent win Francisco Garcia scored 23 points off the bench and Ron Artest added 20 as Sacramento beat the Charlotte Bobcats 116-115 in overtime on Friday. This will be the second meeting of the season between these two clubs. Earlier in the year the Kings beat Orlando 104-100 when guard John Salmons scored 21 points. Sacramento hasn’t been no offensive slouch either as they are averaging 100 points per game overall. However, if they want to win this one they will have to get better on defense versus the potent Magic offense as they are allowing 103 points per game on the road this season. As a result they have struggled to get wins on the road posting only a 9-18 SU mark on the season.
Although the Kings have struggled on the road this season they have performance well overall when listed as an underdog as they are 18-6 ATS as an underdog of 3.5 to 9.5 points this season. Orlando’s defense hasn’t been the most prolific this season either but they have been effective when giving up over 100 points to an opponent previously as they are 14-4 ATS revenging a loss where opponent scored 100 or more points this season.
