NBA Picks: Washington Wizards vs New Orleans Hornets

by Alexander Banks on Monday, February 25th, 2008

The New Orleans Hornets try to get back on track in NBA Picks action tonight with they play host to the Washington Wizards.  The Hornets are coming off two losses in a row to rivals Houston and San Antonio.  The losses dropped them to 37-17 SU overall and into a tie for first play with the Spurs.  Although the Hornets lost their last home game to the Rockets they have been tough all season on their home hardwood sporting an 18-9 SU mark.  They have also shown to increase their offensive production at home averaging an impressive 100.6 points per game.  It’s no wonder that they win at home as their defense only allows 94 points per game.  This will be the first meeting between these two teams while they split both matchups last season.  Overall the Hornets are 14-3 SU versus the Wizards at home since 1996.  With the good season that New Orleans is having it is little wonder that BetUs.com has listed them as a -10 point home favorite.

Tonight will be the first NBA Picks road game of a three game set tonight where they have gone only 10-17 SU on the season.  The Wizards snapped a two game winning streak with a victory over Charlotte back on Saturday but haven’t been playing well at all lately having lost 12 of their last 16 contests.  Their defense has been a problem on the road this season as they are allowing 101.6 points per game.  They should be able to keep up with the Hornets’ scoring as they are averaging 98.6 per game.  In their two previous meetings versus the Hornets last season the Wizards averaged a whopping 112 points per game.   Even with Washington’s struggles this season they are fortunate enough to be in the weak Eastern Conference and currently sit in the number 6 spot with a 26-29 SU mark.

The line might indicate that this one is a lock for the Hornets but before taking that path of NBA Picks consider that they Wizards are 20-7 ATS as a road underdog of 6.5 to 12 points over the last 3 seasons.  However, New Orleans backers will point to the fact that the Hornets are 16-6 ATS as a home favorite of 6.5 to 12 points over the last 2 seasons.

Michael Alexander is coming off another profitable night on the NBA hardwood and has been making boat loads of cash for his NBA Picks clients.  In fact, Michael has made over $17,000 for his dime players this season.  Join Michael at Alexandersports for tonight’s GUARANTEED selections.
