The Utah Jazz has been a hard team to figure out lately in NBA Picks action tonight when they host the Dallas Mavericks. Although they are coming off an easy 113-92 spanking of the Memphis Grizzlies they have not faired well coming off of a win. In fact, in their last seven games, the Utah Jazz have not strung two wins together as every time they have won they have followed that up with a loss. Home cooking could be just what the doctor ordered for the Jazz however as they have won 15 consecutive home games and post an impressive 25-3 SU home mark. Their last loss at home was all the way back on December 29th when they loss to the Boston Celtics. It’s no wonder that the Jazz are almost unbeatable at home as they average a potent 107 points per game. They don’t have the most prolific defense giving up 94.7 points per game but then again when you’re scoring like they are it might not be all that important. Their dominance is showing in the line tonight as they are listed as a solid -6.5 point home favorite at BookMaker.com
The Dallas Mavericks looking to improve on a rather poor NBA Picks road record as they are only 14-18 SU on the road this year. Their most recent road loss came at the hands of the LA Lakers yesterday in overtime108-104. The Mavericks weren’t able to contain Kobe Bryant as he scorched the nets for 52 points, including 30 in the fourth quarter alone. Dallas is also fighting the perception that they mortgaged their whole future for today when they gave up young talent to acquire the aging Jason Kidd. Unfortunately for Dallas so far the deal hasn’t seemed to have paid off as they are only 4-3 SU since the trade. The Mavericks have also struggled recently overall posting only a 5-5 mark in their last 10 games including losing to the top two teams in the Western Conference, Los Angeles and San Antonio. One thing for sure though is that their point production has increased over their last five to 102 points per game. That’s up from and average of 99.5 on the season.
The Utah Jazz seem to be in a good position to break their streak of not being able to win two NBA Picks games in a row as they are a convincing 15-5 ATS in home games off a road win over the last 2 seasons. Meanwhile the Mavericks are a horrible 9-20 ATS after 3 straight games committing 14 or less turnovers this season.
