The New York Knicks will look to keep their momentum headed in a positive direction this evening as they take on the Mavericks in Dallas. Tonight's East meets West clash, which will be broadcast live on TNT following the Lakers/Heat game, is scheduled to tip off at 9:30pm ET at the American Airlines Center. NBA Point Spreads have Dallas listed as a -5 against the spread favorite; the Over/Under is set at 217.
New York, which is 6-3 since trading for Carmelo Anthony, won its third straight game last night with a 110-108 victory at 
Memphis. Anthony, coincidently, hit a game winning jumper with 0.5 seconds left on the clock to give the Knicks their 34th win of the season. The former Syracuse star led the team with 31 points on 12-of-24 shooting.
Amare Stoudemire contributed 26 points and six rebounds against the Grizzlies while guards Toney Douglas and Landry Fields combined for 34 points and 16 assists.
New York had to overcome an incredible shooting night from Memphis, which hit 53.7 percent of its field goal attempts (36-of-67) and 94.3 (33-of-35) percent from the charity stripe. The Knicks also shot the ball well, though, going 12-of-24 from downtown and 47-of-88 overall.
Dallas, which at 46-18 trails the Spurs by six games in the Southwest Division standings, lost for the second time in its last three games on Wednesday night. The Mavericks fell 92-93 at New Orleans after Jarrett Jack converted three free throws in the game's final seconds.
Dirk Nowitzki led Dallas on offense with 26 points, but the big man tallied just four rebounds as the Mavs were destroyed on the glass 31 to 44. Tyson Chandler, the only other Maverick starter to score in double figures, finished the game with 16 points and 13 boards.
The Mavericks, which have been the hottest team in the league over the past month and a half (19-3), have owned the Knicks of late. New York did score a 128-94 win over the Mavs in March of last year, but Dallas has won nine of the last 10 meetings between the two teams, including a February 12th 113-97 victory at Madison Square Garden.
