Lakers vs Heat NBA Spreads March 10th, 2011

How low can they go? That is the question as the reeling Heat host the red hot Lakers tonight at the AmericanAirlines Arena. Miami and Los Angeles are scheduled to take the court at 7:00pm ET this evening for the first half of an NBA double header on TNT. NBA Spreads have the Lakers listed as a -2 against the spread road favorite and the Over/Under set at 188.

Los Angeles, which has lost two in a row to the Heat, extended its current win streak to eight games with a 101-87 win over Lakers vs Heat NBA Spreads March 10th, 2011the Hawks on Tuesday night. The Lakers, now 46-19 overall and 6.5 games back of the Spurs in the Western Conference overall standings, held Atlanta to 39.8 percent field goal shooting in the victory.

Offensively the Lakers hit 39 of their 79 field goal attempts and 5-of-12 from beyond the arc. Kobe Bryant, who scored 17 points in L.A.'s 80-96 Christmas Day loss to the Heat, led five Lakers in double figures after posting 26 points. Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol both recorded double doubles, Bynum tallying 16 points and 16 boards while Gasol managed 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Los Angeles, which can improve to 3-0 on its current four game road swing with a win tonight, has limited its opposition to an average of 87 points per game since the All Star break.

Miami saw its record fall to 43-21 on Tuesday night with a 96-105 loss to the Trail Blazers at the AmericanAirlines Arena. The setback, the Heat's fifth in a row, saw LeBron James go for 31 points, 11 rebounds, and eight assists. Dwyane Wade also had a big night, scoring a game high 38 points on 12-of-21 shooting.

Miami's defense, which has given up an average of 101.4 points per game during the team's current skid, failed to contain the Trail Blazers on the perimeter. Portland shot 50.6 percent for the game, including 41.2 percent from long range, as 56 of its 105 points came outside of the paint.

Miami has owned a solid home court advantage all season long (22-9), but its hold at the AmericanAirlines Arena has slipped of late. The Heat are 0-4 in their last four games as a host, losing by an average of 4.5 points game.
