Chicago Bulls vs Orlando Magic 2012 NBA Predictions

by Scott Burgess on Monday, March 19th, 2012

The Orlando Magic host the Chicago Bulls tonight, Monday Mar 19th, as the Magic look for their fifth consecutive win at home and the Bulls the same on the road. The Magic have split four games with Miami this season, both teams going 2-0 at home. NBA oddsmakers have the Bulls as -1 point road favorites over the Magic with the over/under set at 184 points. Be sure to make your Chicago Bulls vs Orlando Magic 2012 NBA Predictions before the game tips off.

Chicago (37-10, 18-6V) got an 89-80 home win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday night. C.J. Watson, starting for the injured MVP Derrick Rose, scored 20 points and Joakim Noah added 13 points and 11 rebounds. Rose has missed 13 games this season and the Bulls still have the best record in the NBA and are 9-4 without Rose.

Bulls guard Derrick Rose hasn’t been able to run because of the groin injury that’s kept him out of the three games, and while it doesn’t appear he’ll face the Magic tonight, coach Tom Thibodeau didn’t officially rule him out. Chicago won in Orlando 97-83 on Jan. 6 behind 20 points and 13 rebounds from Carlos Boozer and 21 points apiece from Rose and Luol Deng.

Orlando (29-17, 16-7 H) lost to Miami 81-91 at home on Sunday. Dwight Howard closed with 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Jameer Nelson chipped in with 13 points and Jason Richardson with 12. After a three-game road trip last week that started by getting outrebounded by 10 in Orlando — then by 16 in Chicago and 12 in Philadelphia, the Heat outrebounded Orlando 42-36.

Orlando will need Howard to continue his solid play against the Bulls. Dwight Howard is averaging 29.3 points and 14.5 rebounds in his last four games against Chicago and has 10 double-doubles in 12 career home contests versus the Bulls, who have won three straight meetings in Orlando. Orlando ended the Bulls’ eight-game winning streak with a 99-94 win March 8. Rose played but shot 6 for 22 and scored 17 points, while Dwight Howard scored 29 and grabbed 18 rebounds to help the Magic snap a four-game skid in the series.
