 Saturday is a crucial day in the NBA's Western Conference, as the Golden State Warriors try to bounce back from a potentially-crippling loss to Denver when they host the lowly Los Angeles Clippers at Oracle Arena. The Clippers would be best served to let Kaman sit on his ankle for the rest of the season, as they are only playing for yet another spot in the draft lottery. But an encouraging sign is the play of Elton Brand, who had put up 18.6 points and 6.8 rebounds after missing most of the season with an Achilles Heel injury. It remains to be seen if Brand will remain a Clipper next year, but it appears as though he is fully healed from a potentially career-threatening injury. The Warriors end the season with two very winnable games, as they host the Clippers and Seattle, along with a visit to Phoenix. The Golden State run-and-gun style finally caught up to them on Thursday when they fell at home to Denver, as the Warriors were completely perplexed by zone coverage. The struggles of Stephen Jackson will probably be pinpointed as a major reason for the Warriors' fall if they fail to make the postseason, as “Captain Jack” has only 12.0 points over his last five games. The Warriors have taken two consecutive meetings with the Clippers this season, with the two teams putting up a combined 229 points in three games. The Warriors desperately need to win this game, while hoping for a Denver collapse. Golden State should hold up their end of the bargain with a victory over the Clippers on Saturday.
