NBA Playoffs Futures Betting Odds: The two month-long championship tournament that is the NBA playoffs starts with first-round action this Saturday. And SPORTSBETTING.com is offering NBA futures betting odds on both the conference championships and on the 2010 league title.
The defending league champion Los Angeles Lakers and the best team in the Association so far this season, the Cleveland Cavaliers, top the SPORTSBETTING.com NBA championship betting board , Cleveland at +140 and LA at +200. Cleveland (61-21) is the top overall seed in the playoffs, which of course means they've got home-court advantage for any series they play. LA (57-25), meanwhile, has sewn up the top seed in the West, but has struggled a bit lately, going 4-6 over its last 10 games. Orlando won the battle for overall No. 2 seed.
Those defending Eastern Conference champion Magic (59-23) are the third choices on the board at +400. Unlike the Cavs and Lakers, Orlando has kept its edge of late, winning five straight and eight of its last nine. The Magic do get a tougher first-round matchup than a two seed might usually get, though, with the first-time playoff qualifying Charlotte Bobcats.
The Dallas Mavericks, who are second in the West come next at +700, followed by Atlantic Division champion Boston Celtics (50-32) at +900 . The Denver Nuggets, are getting +1,200 at SPORTSBETTING to win the NBA title this spring. Dallas (54-27) won the Southwest Division, and is headed for a first-round series with the Spurs. Denver (53-29) is only 6-7 over its last 13 games, will start the first round at home versus Utah (+1800).
