The Detroit Pistons and the Cleveland Cavaliers will meet today in a one seed versus eight seed NBA Playoff clash at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. The Cavaliers concluded the regular season as the number one overall playoff seed, garnering a league best 66-16 record. They won the Eastern Conference Central division by 25 games and edged out the Boston Celtics by four games to claim the top spot in the Eastern Conference.

Cleveland amassed an amazing 39-2 mark at home while going 27-14 on the road. Mike Brown's squad was without question the best defensive unit in the NBA this year, holding opponents to an average of just 91.4 points per game on 43.1 percent field goal shooting. The league averages were 99.9 and 45.9 respectively.

Detroit finished the year in third place in the Central division with a 39-43 record in Michael Curry's first season as head coach. The Pistons, who will be without guard Allen Iverson for the length of their post season survival, enters the playoffs as the eighth and final Eastern Conference playoff seed.

Detroit went 18-23 on the road this season and they managed a 26-26 record against conference opposition. They relied primarily on their defense as well, ranking eighth in the league by holding teams to an average of 94.7 points per game. The Pistons, however, were almost dead last in the NBA in road scoring average, producing a meager 93.9 points per game in opposing venues.

The Cavaliers won the season series between the two teams three games to one. They went 2-0 against the Pistons at Quicken Loans Arena as they averaged 89 per game in the two wins while holding Detroit to a ridiculous 75.5 average.

LeBron James had the best season of his career this year, averaging 28.4 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 7.2 assists per outing. James averaged 25.8 points per game in the Cavs four games versus the Pistons.
