Suns at Trail Blazers Game 4 2010 NBA Playoffs: The Portland Trail Blazers, trailing their first round NBA series with Phoenix 1-2, will look to even things up with the Suns when they play Saturday afternoon (4:30 p.m. Eastern) at the Rose Garden in Portland. The Suns played inspired basketball in their Game 3 win on Thursday, leading the entire game and coming away with a 108-89 victory.
Jason Richardson poured in a game-high 42 points with eight rebounds to lead the Suns in their lopsided road win. Phoenix won the game as a PICK, while the teams played UNDER the posted total of 204. LaMarcus Aldridge had 17 points and seven rebounds for the Trail Blazers.
In Game 3, the Suns shot 52.9% (37-70) from the floor on the night. Phoenix’s 13 of 28 three-point field goals (46.4%) matched a Trail Blazers playoff opponent all-time high. Portland finished with a 44.2% (34-77) shooting mark from the field.
The Suns jumped out to an 18-point lead, 34-16, after one period, and a 29-point margin, 66-37, at halftime. The Trail Blazers narrowed the deficit to as few as 11 points in the fourth quarter behind four three-pointers in the final period from Rudy Fernandez, but the Suns quickly countered with an 11-0 run to halt the rally.
NBA Playoffs Predictions: Thursday's game was embarrassing for the home team Blazers in front of their home fans. Expect the Blazers to come out swinging today and counter Thursday's terrible loss. While Game-3 was a debacle, the series is still winnable for Portland but only if they win today. Take the Trail Blazers as a home underdog getting 2 1/2-points.
