2010 NBA Playoffs: Spurs vs Suns Game 1 Odds & Picks: The Santonio Spurs and Phoenix Suns begin their seven game playoff series tonight at the U.S. Airways Center in Arizona. San Antonio advanced to the second round of playoff action after ousting the two seed Dallas Mavericks four games to two 
in the first round. The Spurs pulled off the series upset the old-fashioned way, with defense. Dallas, which averaged 102 points per game during the regular season, managed a meager 92.8 points per game in the six game set.
Tim Duncan had all of his old tricks working against the Mavs as he averaged 18.2 points and 9.5 rebounds for the series. Manu Ginobili led the team in scoring, though, averaging 19 points per game.
Phoenix also captured its first series against the Trailblazers in six games, despite a 100-105 game one home loss. The Suns poured in an average of 103 per contest versus Portland, but, surprisingly, it was their defense that thwarted the Blazers. Portland produced just 93 points per game for the series.
Steve Nash, per usual, set the table for his team by dishing out an average of 9.8 assists per game. However, the real star of the series for Phoenix was former Michigan State Spartan Jason Richardson. Richardson pummeled the Blazers for 23.5 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. He also shot an incredible 51 percent from beyond the arc in the six game playoff.
The last 10 games between these two Western Conference rivals at the U.S. Airways Center have been as even as can be with both squads getting five wins apiece. The Suns are 7-3 straight up in their last 10 games as a home favorite playing with a spread between 4 and 7.5, though.
