The Celtics came into Orlando on Sunday and stunned the red hot Magic 92-88 to take a 1-0 series lead. The loss was the first for Orlando in these playoffs as it had reeled off 14 consecutive wins.
Boston shot 44.6 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from three point range while the Magic hit 41.6 percent of their
field goal attempts and just 5-of-22 from beyond the arc. Ray Allen and Paul Pierce led the way for Boston, combining for 47 points, 16 rebounds, and eight assists. Jameer Nelson and Vince Carter did most of the damage for Orlando as the pair scored 43 of the team's 88 points. Dwight Howard produced 13 points, 12 rebounds, and five blocks, but the big man also had seven of the Magic's 18 turnovers.
The victory was the third for the Celtics in their last six visits to the Amway Arena; however, it was just their ninth win in their last 30 trips to the facility. Orlando, which went 34-7 at home during the regular season, has not lost back-to-back home games this season.
