Los Angeles won its eighth consecutive playoff game on Wednesday night with a 124-112 beating of the Suns at the 
STAPLES Center. The double-digit victory gave the Lakers a 2-0 series lead on their Pacific Division brethren in the Western Conference Finals.
The Lakers had no trouble putting the ball in the basket against the Suns porous defense, shooting 57.7 percent for the game and an amazing 56.3 percent from long range. Six players scored in double figures for Phil Jackson, including Kobe Bryant, who had 21 points, and Pau Gasol, who had a team high 29, 14 of which he scored in the fourth quarter.
The Suns had plenty of offense as well, but they could not produce enough to catch Los Angeles. Jason Richardson scored 27 points on 10-of-17 shooting while Grant Hill added 23 points in 32 minutes of action. Steve Nash managed just 11 in the scoring column, but he did dish out 15 assists in the losing effort.
Phoenix went 32-9 at home this season and it has lost just one game at the U.S. Airways Center in these Playoffs. The last team to beat the Suns at home during the regular season was the Lakers (96-102) back on March 12th.
