The Lakers Kobe Bryant made sure his team didn’t go down 0-3. He spun, twisted and drove the net as his teammates pulled out the big must win home game.  But the big winner on the night was Sasha Vujacic who made 3 of 5 from downtown including a crucial one from the left corner with 1:53 left that gave the Lakers an 81-76 lead. The Lakers played a much improved physical game; they were flexing their muscles for once.  The Lakers have averaged 94 PPG, 44.9% from the line, 35% from downtown and 75% at the line in their last five games. At home they SHOULD average 109 PPG, 47.6% from the field, 39% from downtown and 77% at the line. The Lakers are 9-0 at home in the playoffs.

The Celtics got a bad night out from Paul Pierce who made 2 of 14 from the field for a low six points. Kendrik Perkins and Rajon Rondo each had an eight point night while Ray Allen was the only Celtic starter to sink a three pointer, he nailed 5 of 7. They said it was nerves that got to them. Pierce admitted feeling nerves in his return to L.A., "I was probably a little more anxious than normal being that I'm at home in front of more family and more friends," he said. "I've got to block that out and go out there and leave it on the court. I've done it in the past, I've been out there and played and played well, and it's time for me to do it again." The Celtics are 2-9 on the road where they’ve averaged 97 PPG, 45% from the field, 38% from downtown and 77% at the line. They’re giving up an average 92 PPG on the road, their defense is impregnantable.
