If our hunch here at Point-Spreads.com is correct, the 2008 NBA Finals between the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers will end tonight in Boston with Game 6. We don’t expect to see a Game 7. Why?--Because the Boston Celtics are the better team. Boston fans should expect to see plenty of pyrotechnics tonight before and after the game. The oddsmakers seem to think so too. Online sportsbook Bodog (Bodoglife.com) has installed the Celtics as 5-point favorites against the spread with a 191total.

“Tonight should end it,” predicted Point-Spreads.com resident NBA handicapper Reno Gold. “The Celtics have had their [Lakers] number all year and Game 6 should be no different. I think LA will give them a game at the Garden but Boston will prevail. I think taking Boston and the 5-point line has plenty of value too.” 

The Lakers still think they have a good chance to pull out a championship. In the Lakers players minds, they only see having to win two straight games; something they have done many times during the 2007-08 season.

"In training camp if you told us we'll give you two games that you have to win to win a world championship, we would have took it in a heartbeat," Kobe Bryant said.

The Lakers defeated Boston 103-98 as a 7.5-point favorite in Game 5 of the Finals on Sunday. The combined score went OVER the posted over/under total (193).

Kobe Bryant scored 25 points and grabbed seven rebounds for Los Angeles, while Lamar Odom delivered 20 points and 11 rebounds in the win.

Paul Pierce netted a game-high 38 points to go along with eight assists for Boston, and Ray Allen had 16 points in the loss.
