Charlotte Bobcats 2007 NBA PreviewOur 2007-08 Charlotte Bobcats predictions and season preview from Point-Spreads.com will give you a look at their chances in the Southeast Division this season. Online sportsbook SportsBetting.com has the Washington Wizards as 100 to 1 odds to win the 2007-2008 NBA Championship.

Last season, the Bobcats survived last place by just three games, beating out the Atlanta Hawks. With the Hawks picking up two more talented young players, Charlotte is going to have its work cut for itself to stay out of the Southeast cellar this season. But like the Hawks, the Bobcats picked up two quality first rounders: Brandon Wright from North Carolina and Jared Dudley from Boston College. Both of these guys were exceptional in the college ranks and have the potential to be big time NBA talents.

The acquisition of Jason Richardson should prove to be a solid pick up. He brings 19 points per game and nearly seven boards to the gym each night and gathers big crowd support with his electrifying dunks. He is definitely that scoring shooting guard that this team was missing. Raymond Felton had a breakout season last year averaging 14 points per game and seven assists per contest.

Another Tar Heel, Sean May, also came on strong averaging 12 points per game and seven boards. It’s obvious that the Bobcats get a lot of time to look at all the Tar Heels with as many are on this roster. I think it works out well for the organization to have these kids stay in state when they enter the pros as it seeks to gain crossover fans. If someone liked watching Felton in college, he would likely continue to follow him in the NBA, especially when he is still playing in the same state.

Emeka Okafor is Charlotte’s horse inside who averages a double double and Gerald Wallace is an athletic slasher who got the Bobcats 18.1 points per game and over seven boards per game last season.

It’s obvious that the Bobcats have drafted well and that these young guys just need some more games under their belts. It will be a race between the Bobcats and the Hawks to see which young, talented group rises first. There should be some great battles in this division between these two squads for years to come.
