NBA Wednesday Preview and Betting Odds: Following Tuesday’s official opening day with three games, the NBA offers a full 12 game schedule to be played Wednesday including two ESPN nationally televised games.
We [Point-Spreads.com] will provide a run-down on Wednesday’s action and the day’s betting odds. Betting odds are provided by online sportsbook BetUS.com.
Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers opened their season Tuesday at StaplesCenter and cruised to a 96-76 victory over the visiting Portland Trailblazers. With the win, LA easily covered the -10 ½ chalk as the home favorite while the UNDER fell below the posted 202 total. Bryant scored 23 points and hauled down 11 rebounds in the game. Wednesday, the Lakers hit the road and travel all the way to…the Staples Center as they take on the Los Angeles Clippers as the visitor. The Lakers are listed at BetUS.com as -9 ½ point favorites with a 201 ½ total. This game tips-off at 10:35 p.m. as the second of two ESPN televised games.
In the other ESPN televised game (8:05 p.m.), the San Antonio Spurs host the Phoenix Suns. The game will also be former Spur, Terry Porter’s debut as coach of the rival Suns. While the Suns adjust to Porter’s coaching style, the Spurs will stick with what’s worked under Gregg Popovich. Despite last season’s Western Conference finals loss to the Lakers, the Spurs have the league’s longest playoff streak at 11 years and winning four titles along the way. The Spurs are favored by a -2 point chalk ATS and -130 moneyline with a 187 total. Suns backers are getting +102 moneyline juice.
The Oklahoma City Thunder debuts at home at Ford Center Wednesday when they host the Milwaukee Bucks at 8:05 p.m. BetUS.com lists the Thunder as -3 point favorites with a 198 total. For those wishing to jump on OKC with their bets must remember…the Thunder are last year’s Sonics. OKC is also a -150 moneyline favorite while Milwaukee backers are getting +130 moneyline odds. Michael Redd scored 30 points to lead Milwaukee in a 108-95 loss at Chicago on Tuesday. The Bucks failed to cover as a +6 road underdog while the 203 points scored went OVER the posted 197 ½ total.
