2010 NBA All-Star Game Odds & Predictions

by Reno Gold on Sunday, February 14th, 2010

NBA All-Star Game Odds & Predictions: Any basketball team with LeBron James on it will probably be favored over any team that doesn't have LeBron James on it. Unless that team has Kobe Bryant and then it might be even. In today's 2010 NBA All-Star game at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas, Lebron James will start for the East and Kobe Bryant is not going to start for the West. That is why the East is slightly favored to win the game.

2010 NBA All-Star Game Odds & PredictionsNBA oddsmakers at online super-sportsbook BetUS.com list the East as 2-chalk favorites versus the Kobe-less West witht a 263 total. The West is getting +110 odds on the BetUS moneyline while the East is giving -130.

This being primarily a sports gambling blog, such things like the size of the party in North Texas aren't really important – or size of the crowed – expected to be above 90,000. Even the jumbo TV screen is larger than the court the players will be playing on. None is that really important to gamblers who only want to find a winning edge. But it sure would be fun to go and see all of that.

So who will win the game? Lets take a look at the players on both sides. Starting for East is LeBron James (Cavaliers), Kevin Garnett (Celtics), Dwayne Wade (Heat) and Dwight Howard (Orlando). We are not really sure who will be the fifth starter replacing Allen Iverson but it will probably be Joe Johnson of the Atlanta Hawks. That would make since – with Johnson a budding super-star. Also on the roster are first time All-Stars, David Lee (Knicks), Al Horford (Hawks), Gerald Wallace (Bobcats), Rajon Rondo (Celtics), and Derrick Rose (Chicago). Also on the team but not starting arte Paul Pierce (Celtics), Chris Bosh (Raptors).

Replacing injured Kobe Bryant for the West will be local Dallas favorite Dirk Nowitzki. Also starting are Carmelo Anthony (Nuggets),Tim Duncan (Spurs), Steve Nash (Suns) and Amar'e Stoudemire (Phoenix). First time roster players are former Longhorn and current Thunder star Kevin Durant, Zach Randolph (Grizzlies), Chris Kaman (Clippers), Deron Williams (Jazz). Chris Paul (Hornets) and Brandon Roy (Portland) were selected to the team but will not play. Also on the team are Chauncey Billups (Nuggets), Pau Gasol (Lakers) and Jason Kidd (Mavericks).

NBA All-Star Predictions: Picking a winner in an All-Star game is not much more than an educated guess so I always follow this formula – Take the OVER.
