Stoudemire had a first-class series against San Antonio by scoring an average 37 points per game and 10 rebounds, earning him the credit to best scoring average by a conference finals first time player. In spite of this the Suns lost, but not without Amare leaving a lasting impression on a defense that was considered the best in the league. Amare comes into this game for two very good reasons, in spite of his low production during last season’s four games. It is vital for the Phoenix up tempo offensive to get Stoudemire into game shape. The second reason, a 1-3 start that was reasoned to be a hard early schedule without the power forward, who has been missed on both ends of the court. The Phoenix Suns are coming off two losses in the Staple Center in the first five days of the season. The Suns have been leading and blowing these leads to end up losing in the first two games and trying a come from behind approach against the Clippers that ended in a loss as well since they ran out of gas or had no response against the bigger opponents. Click here for more Live NBA Point Spreads Steve Nash led Phoenix with 28 points and 13 assists, Shawn Marrion had 25 and 15 while Kurt Thomas added 15 and 12 boards. The problem lays within another couple of players being there to add as well since the bench was outscored 48-22 giving up 13 offensive boards that became points. The hope for Wednesday is big man Leandro Barbosa and Amare Stoudemire teaming up to out power the Spurs, along with Suns new comer Jalen Rose who is expected to make his debut. The Spurs are also looking to obtain this season’s first home win since losing to the Cleveland Cavaliers and later taking it out on Toronto and New York in a two game road sweep. Brent Barry hit five of San Antonio’s 13 3 pointers scoring 19 points total off the bench on Monday night while Tony Parker had 24 points and 10 assists in what seemed a close call in the end at the Madison Square Garden. Watch for San Antonio to also use Francisco Elson who they signed to help against upbeat teams, Elson was a help last week against the Dallas Mavericks.
In spite of the Phoenix pace we see the Spurs commanding at home but San Antonio will win this game with not too simple a task against the Suns’ reinforcements. Amare might still require more game time for form, but Jalen Rose starts this game and it will be interesting. We don’t see an easy win for the Spurs but with the Suns getting 6½ points we say go road doggie and the over. This will be a nice shoot out. |

On Wednesday night, Amare Stoudemire will lead the Phoneix Suns into AT & T Center in San Antonio, Texas to play two time league MVP Tim Duncan’s Spurs. Not since the 2005 Western Conference finals has Amare been in the starting line up. After the series he underwent micro fracture knee surgery and appeared in only three games last season before calling it quits for much needed rest.
