The team with the NBA’s best record at 43-9 and Southwest Division leader, Dallas Mavericks, travels down I-45 to play the division’s third best team, the Houston Rockets tonight in the Toyota Center in Houston with tip-off at 8 p.m. EST. The Mavericks are currently enjoying an eight game straight up winning streak and have covered five of their last six and seven of their last ten games against the spread. The Mavericks would like to improve on that record going into the all-star break. Tonight, Dallas is installed a road favorite by a -2 ½ point chalk with a total of 185 at most offshore sportsbooks including offshore giant SportBet.com. Houston, with a record of 33-18, has won four of its last five SU and covered ATS in three of the team’s last five games. The OVER has cashed in three of the last five games the Rockets have played. During two double-digit wins in Dallas over the past four weeks, the Mavericks have overwhelmed the Rockets with their backcourt depth and had little trouble finding an offensive rhythm by spreading the floor against Houston's defense. The Mavericks shot a combined 47 percent from the field in those two wins, making a total of 17 three-pointers. Bet on the Mavericks vs Rockets at SportBet.com and receive a 50% signup bonus. "They've beaten us two straight times and they're tough," said Rockets guard Tracy McGrady. "There's no other way of putting that. They're the best team in this league and they've got our number. It's the last game before the break so hopefully we want cash it in and get ready to play. We need to try to get a win because it would be a big momentum swing heading into the break." "If our one-on-one defense doesn't get better, we're going nowhere," Houston coach Jeff Van Gundy said after Tuesday's 109-104 overtime victory over Sacramento. "It's the truth, too. If you can't guard your own guy, I'm talking throughout the game, getting beaten off the dribble, you have no shot. We have no shot when it all comes down to it. So when you're looking long-range plans, if you're thinking big, that I think in general what concerns me doesn't concern them as much as it needs to. Big picture stuff." |
