Jazz face a difficult task in toppling Spurs in Game-Two of the Western Conference Finals

by Benton Vale on Tuesday, May 22nd, 2007

The Utah Jazz hasn’t won a regular season or post season game in San Antonio since the 1999 season. For the Jazz to have any chance to progress to the NBA Finals they must solve the road problem they face in the Alamo City. It is imperative the Jazz figure out a way to steal a game at the AT&T Center to have any chance.

The Jazz, who had not played since their series-clinching win over the Warriors on Tuesday never got into a rhythm until the fourth quarter, where they outscored the Spurs by eight (38-30) and pulled within seven with less than three minutes remaining. Deron Williams erupted for 34 points, nine assists and seven rebounds, while Carlos Boozer chipped in with 20 points.

After eliminating the Phoenix Suns on Friday in the semifinals, the Spurs picked up right where they left off with a 108-100 Game-One triumph over the Utah Jazz on Sunday. Tim Duncan racked up 27 points and 10 rebounds for San Antonio, which shot 66 percent from the floor in the first half and led by as many as 19 in the game. Manu Ginobili added 23 points, 10 assists and four boards.

Game-One went about as oddsmakers expected with the Spurs winning SU and getting by the -6 ½ point favorites line with the eight point win. Oddsmakers at Wagerweb.com expect some of the same in Game-Two tonight installing the Spurs as a -6 ½ point favorite with a money line price of -330 and a 188 total. Jazz backers are getting +270 ml juice.

Since the playoffs started the Spurs have won 9-of-13 games SU and covered ATS 8-of-13. The total went UNDER in 9-of-13 playoff games the Spurs played.

The Jazz have won 8-of-13 games SU and covered gone 8-4-1 ATS in the 13 playoff games. The OVER has cashed in totals betting in 7-of-13 playoff games the Jazz played.

The Pick: Spurs ML -330
