One thing that could completely turn any advantage the Celtics have on its ear is the injury factor. What is the status of forward Paul Pearce and center Kendrick Perkins ? My opinion, aside from the dramatics displayed in Game-1, they will be fine and in rare form come game time. The storylines from Game-1 are many but nothing that happened on the court was more dramatic than Pearce leaving the court in a wheelchair only to return and post up 11 of his 22 points late in the game to cement the Celtics victory. How will his injury affect today’s game? Is Pearce really injured or was Thursday’s action all show. According to Celtics coach Doc Rivers, both Pearce and Perkins will play today. Perkins sat out yesterday’s practice to give his ankle some rest and Pearce did participate. As for the Lakers, they need to win this game. A win today would give them the much needed home court advantage. A win today sends LA home with three to play in Staples Arena, a definite advantage. NBA Finals Pick: Celtics -1.0 |
