NBA Finals: Spurs will follow same strategy in Game-Two; Shut down LeBron James

NBA Finals: Spurs will follow same strategy in Game-Two; Shut down LeBron James The problem I see with the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA finals is, “it’s all about Lebron.”… Lebron this and Lebron that.” No team can hang its fortunes on one player as Cleveland has on Lebron James. This is why the Cleveland Cavaliers will not win the 2007 NBA Championship. They don’t have enough team surrounding their star player.

James is a great player and he will only get better but right now, the Cavaliers are overmatched as a team. If Game-One wasn’t enough proof then tune in Sunday night for Game-Two and you can see much of the same.

The Spurs shut James down in game one, scoring only 14 points during an uncharacteristic four-for-16 shooting night. James also turned the ball over six times in the Cavaliers 85-76 setback at the AT&T Center in San Antonio.

The Spurs hounded James at every turn Thursday, tossing two and sometimes three bodies on him whenever he touched the ball. James responded by taking ill-advised shots or tossing the ball away in an attempt to find the open man.

The chances are strong Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and company will not be playing another game at the AT&T Center for the rest of this season after Sunday’s game; providing the Spurs win Sunday’s game. The NBA Finals follows a 2-3-2 format meaning the Spurs could lose one game on the road and still finish off the Cavaliers never having to bring it back to San Antonio.

Oddsmakers opened the Spurs as a -7 .0 chalk side favorite with a money line (ml) cost of -400. The total is holding at 176 ½.

In Game-One, the Spurs held the Cavaliers in check most of the night and covered the -7 ½ point line. The total sailed UNDER the 178 ½ mark.
