The San Antonio Spurs have a chance to extend their lead to 3-1 over the Phoenix Suns tonight in Game-Four of the Western Conference Semifinals at San Antonio’s AT&T Center and the Suns would like to even the series at 2-2. Tim Duncan scored 33 points, grabbed 19 rebounds, and blocked three shots in the Spurs Game-Three victory on Saturday night. Duncan has rejected 19 shots in these playoffs, averaging 2.7 per game. The Suns will be looking to revisit their first quarter performance tonight. In Saturday’s opening period, the team shot 60% and posted 30 points. The Spurs responded with a 30-point quarter of their own headed into halftime.
Manu Ginobili drove a stake through the Suns hearts coming off the bench and putting up 24 points. The Spurs’ sixth man atoned for his lackluster performances in Games One and Two. An accidental poke to the eye by defender Shawn Marion may have temporarily slowed the Spurs’ guard down, but it was Ginobili who had the Suns seeing stars after scoring 10 straight points in the last two minutes of the third quarter.
Being without the services of Amaré Stoudemire for most of the second half didn’t help matters for Phoenix, either. The Suns’ big man got off to a hot 5-of-7 shooting, 14-point first half before being forced to take a seat due to foul trouble. He finished with 21 points.
Oddsmakers at Sportbet.com have installed the Spurs a slight favorite with a -3.0 chalk and a money line cost of -160. The Suns are getting +140 juice on the ml. The total is holding at 202.
Despite the recent trend of San Antonio going UNDER the total in eight straight games entering their second round Playoff series against Phoenix, two of the first three series games have gone OVER. Add to that the fact that Phoenix is on a 27-13 OVER run as a road underdog of 6 points or less and 10-2 OVER when revenging a loss this season. It's no surprise to us that 81% of the early action is on tonight's game to go OVER the total (202).
