A war for pride will take place when Fernando Vargas enters his final fight against trash talking Ricardo Mayorga Sept 8th in Los Angeles. Mayorga has repeatedly insulted Vargas's family with vicious verbal assaults but Vargas got the better of the free swinging Mayorga a a press conference by splitting Ricardo's cheek with an uppercut. Mayorga is going to see how fat I am…I only have to lose 8 lbs. for this fight…I didn't just start training two months ago i've been training since January…I have been working with my strength and conditioning coach, running, weight lifting and swimming…I don't know how to say no…You watch and see how many crazy fans will be there…It's going to be insane…I'm going to miss the ring walk and when they call name…Making 154 lbs. was too hard for me…After the fight with Mosely I said that was it… But after Mayorga kept messing with me I just paced up and down my house until I just said to myself that I couldn't go out like that…I'm going to make Mayorga apologize to my mother when I get through with him."Their will be a documentry styled program on Showtime counting down this fight titled: "Countdown to the Brawl" starting at 1am et.
