After all the shenanigans the Fernando Vargas vs Ricardo Mayorga fight in Los Angeles has been postponed. Fans have purchased over one million dollars in ticket revenue for the Sept. 8th fight at the STAPLES center but a doctor has ordered Vargas to not fight following a blood test that exposed a critical iron deficiency in Vargas.
The doctor said it will take a couple weeks to treat the illness. The Don King and Main Events promotion insisted that the bout would be rescheduled for a later date and will make an announcement as soon as the change has been made.
Their were reports from Vargas’s training camp that the fighter looked sluggish, most likely the result of the medical condition otherwise know as anemia. Anemia is usually a dietary problem that arises from insufficient iron intake. Anemia causes individuals to feel light-headed and severely fatigued.
