Abbott (9-13) has been looking less than impressive in recent bouts having lost his last three fights in the first round but his immense MMA popularity made this bout appetizing. Kimbo Slice who is fresh off a one round submission of former heavyweight boxing contender Ray Mercer. Slice called Abbott out after the fight and the Tank was more than willing to face Kimbo in the cage for the right price. Kimbo Slice is a Miami, FL based fighter that has an unofficial 7-1 bare knuckle fighting record that was documented by underground fight tapes that circulated on the internet. Both of these fighters are strikers that can punch with tremendous power so this fight will most likely not go the 3 round scheduled distance. Tank Abbott has a tendency to cut so it is quite likely that one of Slice’s bombs from his ham sized fists will split Abbott wide open. One thing about Kimbo that has been called into question is his lack of stamina. If Abbott can manage to drag Kimbo Slice late into the fight it will be a true test as to how authentic Kimbo really is.
