Seven foot monster Heavyweight contender Nikolai Valuev is set to make his comeback on Saturday night in Germany after suffering his first defeat as a pro against Ruslan Chagaev. Against Chagaev, Nikolai was chasing the tricky Chagaev for most of the fight but he failed to land many clean punches and he lost his WBA title strap by split-decision. The 6'5" 220 Lb. Bergeron will have his hands full with Valuev, 46-1, 34 KO's, as he has never faced even a top 30 contender despite his glossy record. 

The 320 Lb. Valuev has been working on a new style that is suppose to use more head-movement and footwork. Valuev has been very slow and hittable in his pro career and he never had any amateur experience. There are many critics that are still not sold on Nikolai, believing that he is no more than freak show with gloves on. Valuev has defeated fringe contending heavyweights by KO but has not fared very well against top competition. 

Bergeron is a 34 year old fighter that views this fight has his big opportunity . Jean-Francois has some polished boxing skills and he won the silver medal at the 1995 Pan American Games. Bergeron is not considered a heavy puncher despite his 70% KO percentage. Despite his obvious advantages in size Begeron is undaunted and has stated "I once fought a guy seven feet tall...we did pads on a stool to get used to punching higher." Bergeron said that he plans on using movement and hard punches to defeat Valuev. Despite Jean-Francois's confidence offshore sportsbooks are giving the canadian little respect by making him a 9-1 boxing betting underdog.
