Connecticut at Georgetown College Basketball Picks

by Reno Gold on Saturday, January 9th, 2010

Connecticut at Georgetown College Basketball Picks: With college football clearly out of the way, the BIG EAST Conference will get its first big college basketball Saturday started with a blockbuster battle between traditional rivals Georgetown and Connecticut at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. The game is slated for a Noon ET tipoff and will be shown on ESPN.

College basketball oddsmakers at online sportsbook BetUS.com list the hometown Hoyas as 4 1/2-chalk favorites ATS while also favored on the moneyline at -190. Connecticut backers are getting +160 moneyline odds as the underdog.

The Hoyas enter the game on Saturday with an 11-2 overall record and a 2-1 mark in the BIG EAST Conference. Georgetown is ranked No. 12 in the country in the Associated Press Top 25 poll and No. 12 in the ESPN/USA Today Top 25 Coaches poll.

Connecticut enters the game with an 11-3 overall record and a 2-1 mark in the league. They are ranked No. 13 in both national polls. After dropping their BIG EAST opener at Cincinnati, the Huskies bounced back with wins over Notre Dame and Seton Hall.

College basketball picks: We like UConn getting the points (+4 1/2) but you had better take the Hoyas SU (-190).
