This is the 123rd meeting between UCLA and Washington with the Bruins leading the series 88-34. The teams split a pair of meetings last year, each team winning on its home floor. UCLA is 56-6 against the Huskies in Los Angeles and 41-3 in Pauley Pavilion. Last year, the top-ranked Bruins posted a 96-74 victory over No. 14 Washington on Dec. 31, 2006. Arron Afflalo scored 20 of his 27 points in the first half. Spencer Hawes led UW with 21 points. Washington won the last meeting, a 61-51 victory on March 3, 2007 in Seattle. Jon Brockman led Washington with 20 points while Josh Shipp led UCLA with 13 points.
The Huskies have implemented four different starting lineups this season. Ten players have drawn at least one start with Justin Holiday the only active Husky who hasn't opened a game. The most recent lineup (Brockman, Wallace, Smith, Appleby, Morris) was used the last six games, beginning Dec. 15 against Portland, with a 5-1 record. Jon Brockman is the only player to start every game. He was the only Husky to start all 32 games last season. Brockman has started 77 of his 78 career games at UW, missing only the final regular-season home game in 2006 to allow for a Husky senior to start. Brockman's consecutive games streak stands at 52 games. The Huskies utilized seven different starting lineups last season with a primary lineup that was comprised of two freshmen, two sophomores and one junior.
