No. 11 Georgetown improved to 12-2 on Saturday and rebounded from a 59-62 loss at Marquette with a 72-69 home win over Connecticut at the Verizon Center. Three Hoya players hit double figures in the victory, including a game high 33 from guard Austin Freeman. Freeman also had seven rebounds, two assists, and three steals in the dispatching of the Huskies.
The Hoyas, which possess a 3-1 Big East record, are 7-1 at home this year where they are giving up a meager 59.5 points per game. Georgetown's only home loss came against Old Dominion on December 19th (57-61). Despite their straight up success at the Verizon Center, the Hoyas are a pathetic 2-10 against the spread in their last 12 games at the facility.
