The No. 13 ranked Gonzaga Bulldogs complete their three-day two-game San Francisco Bay area road trip with a game at West Coast Conference rival San Francisco Saturday night (9:30 pm Eastern). Online sportsbook BetUS.com has installed the Bulldogs as 12-point road favorite while the Dons are getting -900 odds on the BetUS moneyline.
Freshman Elias Harris is the reason Gonzaga seems to be on its way to its 10th consecutive West Coast Conference title. Certainly, Harris is not the only quality player on coach Mark Few's squad, and senior Matt Bouldin probably is the front-runner for conference player of the year honors, but after losing four starters from last season's squad, the Bulldogs had some holes to fill and some questions to answer.
Four of the five starting spots seemed to be set, with Bouldin returning at the lead guard position, and Steven Gray, Demitri Goodson and Robert Sacre the logical candidates to fill three of the other starting spots based on their play the past few seasons at Gonzaga.
Matt Bouldin and Steven Gray netted 15 points apiece in helping Gonzaga defeat Santa Clara 71-64 on Thursday. Gonzaga failed to cover the 12-point spread, while the 135 points went UNDER the posted total of 146.
Elias Harris chipped in with 16 points and hauled down 14 rebounds for a double-double in the win.
College basketball predictions: Gonzaga should pick up an easy win tonight against the Dons. We like the Bulldogs giving -12.
