The tenth-ranked Wildcats of Kentucky (16-5) head down to Oxford, Miss., to play the Ole Miss Rebel-Black Bears (13-8) in a SEC men's basketball game Tuesday (7:00 PM Eastern) at Tad Smith Coliseum. Kentucky is battling for the SEC East Division lead with Florida and Tennessee while Ole Miss is (1-5 SEC) is trying to stay out of the SEC West cellar.
Staying up to date on current NCAA Basketball Point Spreads, will equip fans of college basketball with the best tools to make winning bets all the way through the 2011 NCAA Tournament.
Point Spreads specialists at most offshore sports shops list the Cats as 6 1/2-chalk road favorites versus Ole Miss with a 145 total. Black Bears backers are getting +240 odds on the offshore money line to win the game SU while Kentucky is giving -280. In order to win $100 wagering the ML, the price of the bet is $280.
Current betting trends show 92 percent of point spreads action on the Wildcats and 93 percent of ML bets on the Cats to win outright. Betting the UNDER is the favorite totals bet with 88 percent of action on the combine score to stay below the posted 145.
John Calipari's Wildcats are very good at home so far posting a 13-1 SU record at Rupp Arena but are even in true road games at 3-3. However, Kentucky is only covers the point spreads half the time, going 3-3 ATS on the road and 7-7 overall. Even at home, Kentucky is 4-4 ATS.
Ole Miss is better covering ATS than Kentucky overall, going 9-8 on the season but are below .500 at home posting 4-6. The Black Bears are 10-4 SU this season at the Tad Pad.
In last years meeting Feb. 2, 2010, in Lexington, Ole Miss shocked Wildcat nation winning SU 85-75, and in the process covering the point spread as a plus-11 road underdog.
The Wildcats, though young and inexperienced are loaded with quality talent. They have a tendency to play down to the competition and could be vulnerable to what looks to be an inferior Ole Miss team. I'm predicting a slight Point-Spreads upset in this one calling for Ole Miss to cover at home. NCAAB Point Spreads BEST BET – Ole Miss +6 1/2.
