The Kansas Jayhawks are in enemy territory tonight for a showdown with their most bitter rival, the Missouri Tigers. Unlike some recent get togethers, this meeting has more than just animus on the line as the Tigers are two games behind the Jayhawks in the conference standings. The ESPN Big Monday night cap tips off at 9:00pm ET at Mizzou Arena in Columbia, Missouri. Kansas vs Missouri College Basketball Picks at Sportsbook.com have the Tigers listed as a -4 against the spread home favorite. The Missouri Tigers currently sit in third place in the Big 12 standings with a 7-2 conference record and a 20-4 overall mark. They have won three straight conference games, the last two on the road, entering tonight's showdown with Kansas. Mike Anderson's squad last played on Saturday in Ames, Iowa, when they beat Iowa State 82-68. Senior forward DaMarre Carroll led Missouri with 31 points, nine rebounds, and two blocks. As a team, Missouri dished out 28 assists, shot 56 percent from beyond the arc, and 57 percent from the field. Missouri is 14-0 at home this season where they average 90.5 points per game and give up 62 in return. The resurgent group ranks fourth in the nation in scoring at 84.2 per game and they have won their four conference home games this season by an average of 26 points per game (Colorado, Iowa State, Texas Tech, and Baylor). Kansas, despite having a revamped roster from last year's National Championship team, has still played at an extremely high level. The Jayhawks are 8-0 in Big 12 action and 19-4 overall. They have won nine of their last 10 contests entering tonight's game, their latest win coming against Oklahoma State by a score of 78-67 on Saturday at Allen Field House. Bill Self's team put together a total team win against the Cowboys with no player scoring over 13 points. They also outrebounded OSU 44 to 32 and hit 47 percent of their three pointers while holding the Cowboys to 35 percent and 31 percent from the field and beyond the arc respectively. The Jayhawks are 4-2 on the road this season where they average 71.2 points per game and allow host teams 68.2. Kansas leads this series, one of the oldest in college athletics, 166-93. They have also won eight of their last ten meetings on the court with the Tigers.
