 After getting surprised by the Louisville Cardinals in a College Basketball Picks loss the sixth ranked Georgetown Hoyas look to start a new winning streak tonight when they host the Villanova Wildcats in a Big East Conference matchup. The Hoyas come into this one 19-3 SU overall and 9-2 SU in the Big East and lead the conference by a ½ game over Notre Dame. Prior to their loss to Louisville the Hoyas had won six in a row. The Georgetown offense who scores and average of 70.8 points per game was outscored 36-20 in the second half versus the Cardinals. However, it’s the Hoya’s defense that gets most of the attention as they give up only an average of 56.8 points per game while allowing their opponents to shoot only 36% from the floor. It appears that most of the public looks for Georgetown to get back on track tonight as they are listed as a double digit -13.5 point favorite at BetUs.com.
The Villanova Wildcats come into this one at 14-8 SU and 4-6 SU in Big east lay. Back on Saturday the Wildcats were able to snap a five game losing streak when they beat Seton Hall 72-70. Villanova has really struggled on the road this season as they are just 2-5 SU away from home and have lost three straight. This will be the first meeting between these schools this season. Last year they split the regular season series with each winning on the opposition's home floor. Villanova has shown a slightly better scoring offense than the Hoyas as they are averaging 75.2 points per game. Their defense will have a tough challenge though as they give up an average of 75.6 points per game on the road and will be facing a Hoya team who can score in the 70’s.
