However, a strong finish to the season would improve their chances of earning an at-large bid, beginning with today's (6 PM Eastern) road matchup with No. 17 Florida at the O'Connell Center in Gainesville. The Gators (19-5, 8-2 SEC) are currently in the drivers seat of the SEC East with a two game lead in the division standings. Tennessee is one of four teams with four SEC losses chasing the Gators. Tennessee has lost back to back SEC games and is 0-1 since coach Bruce Pearl's return from serving an eight-game SEC suspension, losing by 12 at Kentucky on Tuesday.
