The newly ranked number-one Kansas University Jayhawks (24-1), will attempt to defend their ranking when they travel to Manhattan, Kan., to play the Kansas State Wildcats (16-9) at Bramlage Coliseum. The Wildcats have been a disappointment this season and barring any miracles, will not make the 68 team NCAA Tournament field. Odds makers at most offshore sports books list the Jayhawks as 6 1/2-chalk spreads favorites with a posted total of 145 1/2.

Betting trends show public confidence in the Jayhawks ability to come away with a straight up road win (96%) and point-spreads cover (86%) high. Totals betting is high, by 69%, the combined game score goes OVER the posted 145 1/2 points.

KU's top ranking might not be a good thing for KSU as the Wildcats are 1-7 all-time versus the Jayhawks ranked as the No. 1 team. The Wildcats have not fared well against other number one's either going 3-13 all-time. The last time a No. 1 Jayhawks team defeated the Wildcats was last year, winning 72-64, in the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship Tournament.

KSU comes into tonight's game after dropping a two-point loss at Colorado Saturday night in Boulder. The loss at Colorado ended a two-game winning streak in league play. Prior to the loss the Wildcats were on a roll after previous wins against Nebraska and Iowa State. KSU and Kansas last played at Allen Field House in Lawrence, where the Jayhawks blasted the Wildcats by 24-points (90-66). For the game, odds makers had KU lined as 10-chalk favorites, a line they easily covered.

Kansas has worked its way back to number-one by winning six games in a row since losing at home to Texas on Jan. 22, the only league blemish on KU's record this campaign. Playing on the road is no problems for KU as they have undefeated at 8-0 SU away from Allen Fieldhouse and are 4-4 ATS. Kansas is 11-9 ATS on the year.

The Wildcats are pretty tough to beat at home as their home record of 12-2 indicates. The Wildcats are also 4-3 ATS at home.

NCAAB Spreads BEST BET – Kansas -6 1/2.
