The Kansas Jayhawks will get a breather tonight after facing their two most bitter rivals last week. The dismal Iowa State Cyclones are visiting Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence, KS tonight for a Big 12 showdown with the Jayhawks. The game is set to start at 8:00pm ET and can be seen on ESPN's Pay-per-view Full Court.

Kansas snapped an eight game win streak last Monday night when they fell 60-62 to the Missouri Tigers in Columbia. The Jayhawks led almost the entire game but they could not find the basket in the last several minutes of competition. Their inability to score the ball led to their last second demise.

Bill Self's squad followed up the Missouri loss with a road trip to Manhattan, KS to face in-state rival Kansas State. The Wildcats stormed out to 16 point first half lead, but the Jayhawks cut the deficit to two at the half. Kansas eventually went on to win the heated contest 85-74 on the strength of their outside shooting. The Jayhawks connected on almost 57 percent of their field goals and nailed 66.7 (8-of-12) percent from beyond the arc.

The split with their rivals moved fifthteenth ranked Kansas' conference record to 9-1 and their overall mark to 20-5. They trail the first place Sooners by two games in the Big 12 and they have a half-game lead over third place Missouri.

The Jayhawks are 14-0 at home this year, where they average 80.3 points per game. Visitors have produced a 62.1 point per game average at Allen Fieldhouse this season.

Iowa State has had a miserable season thus far, highlighted by their 2-8 record in Big 12 action. Their 13-12 overall record has them sitting at 10th place in the conference standings. They have lost seven of their last eight contests entering tonight's battle with Kansas.

The Cyclones ended a six game losing skid last week with a 70-42 victory in Ames over the Colorado Buffaloes, but they could not carry the winning momentum into their next outing. The Cowboys of Oklahoma State dismantled Iowa State 86-67 in Stillwater.

Iowa State, who is 2-7 on the road this season, will need a tremendous effort from forward Craig Brackins to have a shot this evening in Lawrence. The sophomore is averaging 19.7 points per game and 9.1 rebounds per game for the Cyclones.
