NCAA Basketball Picks: UC Santa Barbara at Utah StateUtah State and UC Santa Barbara battle in a clash of two teams with similar records. The UC Santa Barbara Gauchos are third in the Big West and have won five of their last six games, including a 77-73 victory at UC Davis on Saturday. Ivan Elliott went 8-for-9 from the field for 18 points to spark the Gauchos, who also forced 17 turnovers in the contest.  BetOnline.com has Utah State a –5 point favorite over UCSB.

The Utah State Aggies have dropped three in a row coming into this crucial game, falling 70-67 at San Jose State on Monday. Utah State lost this game at the foul line, attempting 14 fewer free throws than the Spartans. Jaycee Carroll fired in a game-high 31 points for the Aggies, but he did not get much help from his teammates. The Gauchos have dropped four of their last five games with the Aggies, including a pair of losses in 2005. UC Santa Barbara have been exceptional on the road, but the Aggies should pull out a close victory in this one.
