Ivy League leaders Cornell aim to protect their perfect conference record when they host Yale. The Big Red have rode to the top of the Ivy League on the back of a ten-game winning streak, as all five Cornell starters reached double-digits in a 73-63 victory at Dartmouth on Saturday. Ryan Wittman paced the balanced attack with 16 points for Cornell, who shot 57.4% from the field. However, the Big Red committed 16 turnovers, which is something they would like to avoid in the future. BetOnline.com has Cornell a -8.5 point favorite over Yale.
The Bulldogs had a three-game winning streak snapped with a 78-65 loss at Pennsylvania on Saturday, as they were outscored by 14 points in the second half. Eric Flato managed 13 points for the Bulldogs, who were only 13-for-22 from the foul line. Cornell have won three of their last five against Yale, including a 66-45 romp on the road on February 2nd. Cornell should complete the season sweep over Yale, and move one step closer to the Ivy League crown.
Yale at Cornell starts at 7:00 PM EST on Friday, February 22nd, 2008. It is Bracket Busters weekend in the NCAA, where top mid-major teams will get some exposure as they jockey for a spot in March Madness.
