College Basketball Picks: Marquette Golden Eagles vs Villanova Wildcats

The Villanova Wildcats roll into this one on a College Basketball Picks winning streak of their own as they have won three in a row including a big win over rival UConn back on Saturday.  The win knocked the Huskies out of a first place tie in the Big East but left the Wildcats at 7-7 SU in the Conference Play still 4 games in back of the top spot.  Overall Villanova is having a good season sporting a 17-9 SU mark overall including a very impressive 12-2 SU performance at home.  Although not a big scoring team overall they do improve at home scoring an average 76.2 per game, which is 3 points more than their season average overall.  Defensively they should be able to hold their own as they give up only 67.5 points per game while holding their opponents to 42.9% shooting from the floor.  This will be the first meeting between these schools this season.  Last season Villanova lost to the Golden Eagles 80-67 when Marquette shot over 42% from the floor. 

For the Wildcats defense will be the key as they are 8-0 ATS in home games after allowing 65 points or less 2 straight games over the last 3 seasons.  By contrast Marquette is 6-0 ATS after a blowout win by 30 points or more over the last 3 seasons.
