The Kansas Jayhawks, already owning at least a share of the Big 12 regular season title, can win the conference outright by beating Missouri this afternoon. The two bitter rivals are scheduled to take the floor at the Mizzou Arena at 12:00pm ET; the game will be broadcast live on CBS. College Basketball Lines have the Jayhawks listed as a -3 against the spread road favorite.
Kansas continued its domination of Missouri earlier this season by scoring a 103-86 win at Allen Fieldhouse on February 7th.
The Jayhawks shot a ridiculous 60.7 percent from the field and 57.9 percent from three point range (11-of-19) to give them their ninth win in their last 10 meetings with the Tigers. Five Kansas players reached double figures for Head Coach Bill Self in the victory, led by Marcus Morris' 22 points.
Since that double digit route, the second ranked Jayhawks have posted five wins to one loss to bring their season record to an impressive 28-2. Kansas last played on Wednesday night, when it scored a 64-51 home win over No. 22 Texas A&M.
The Jayhawks, which are 13-2 in conference play, forced the Aggies into 17 turnovers and a miserable 39.6 percent shooting night.
Missouri reeled off four straight wins after its loss at Kansas, beating Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Iowa State, and Baylor; however, the Tigers have stumbled of late, losing back to back road games at Kansas State and Nebraska.
The setback against the Cornhuskers dropped Mizzou's record to 22-9 overall and 8-7 in Big 12 action, allowing the surging Wildcats to move past the Tigers in the conference pecking order (currently fifth).
Despite their recent struggles, Marcus Denmon and company have been outstanding at home. The Tigers are 17-0 at Mizzou Arena, where they are beating their conference opposition by an average of 17.4 points per game. A tally which explains why they are just a slight NCAA Basketball Predictions underdog to a superior Jayhawks squad.
