The Atlantic Coast Conference mens hoops tournament tips off on Thursday from Charlotte Bobcats arena in Charlotte, N.C., and to the surprise of almost no one; top-seed North Carolina and 2-seed Duke are the favorites. The game between (10) Virginia (15-14, 5-11) and (7) Georgia Tech (14-16, 7-9) begins the evening session at 7 p.m. followed by (11) Boston College (13-16, 4-12) vs. (6) Maryland (18-13, 8-8).

Top seed North Carolina will play the winner of Thursday’s FSU/Wake battle at noon Friday to be followed by Virginia Tech playing the winner of Miami/NCSU at 2 p.m.

No. 2 seed Duke will start the night set against the winner of the Georgia Tech/ Virginia quarterfinal game to be followed by No. 3 seed Clemson taking on the winner of Maryland/Boston College at 9 p.m.
