Seton Hall vs Syracuse College Basketball Picks at Sportsbook.com have the Pirates listed as a +6.5 against the spread underdog.

Syracuse concluded the regular season with a 23-8 overall mark and a 11-7 Big East record. Both tallies were good enough for a seventh place finish in the conference and a first round bye in this week's tournament. The Orange had to overcome a difficult stretch (losing six of eight games) in order to salvage their season; they did so by winning their last four games, including a 86-79 overtime victory against Marquette in the season finale.

Syracuse outscored Marquette 13-6 in the extra period and they also hit 56.3 percent from the field to escape Milwaukee with the win. Jim Boeheim got 44 combined points from guards Jonny Flynn and Andy Rautins and the Orange also dished 23 assists. The Syracuse defense limited the Golden Eagles to 36 percent from the field and 23.3 percent from beyond the arc.

The Orange, who are 2-1 in neutral site games this season, defeated Seton Hall 100-76 back in December. The decisive conquest marked the first of three occasions that Syracuse would hit the century mark this year. They are averaging 80.1 points per game on the season.

Seton Hall finished the year with a 7-11 record in conference play, but they moved their overall record to 17-14 last night with a 68-54 win over South Florida in the Big East Tournament's opening round. The victory was the Pirates second in a row as they concluded the regular season with a 67-63 overtime win in Cincinnati.

Seton Hall scorched the nets yesterday against the Bulls miserable defense, hitting 50 percent from the field and 53.8 percent from downtown. Guard Jeremy Hazell led the Pirates with 23 points on 9-of-14 shooting, he also hit four of his six three point attempts. Hazell's backcourt mate, Eugene Harvey, contributed 16 points and six assists in the winning effort.

The Pirates are 1-0 in neutral site games this year; they beat Virginia Tech 77-73 in November in San Juan, Puerto Rico. They are averaging 74.3 points per game this season while giving up 72.3 in return.
